イギリスの思い出

地元の方と話すチャンスが3回ありました。

I had three chances to talk with local people.

1回目は地下鉄の駅で『こっちが出口ですか？』と女性に聞かれました。

At an underground station, a woman asked me "Is there a way out?".

かなり階段を上がる必要があるので、『かなり長い道のりになりますよ。（エレベーターに乗った方がいいですよ。）』と伝えたかったのですが、果たしてちゃんと言えてたかどうか。

I wanted to tell her, "It's gonna be a very long walk. It means It's better to take the elevetor". but I'm not sure if I said it correctly.

ちなみに、後ろの男性が『It's gonna be hard』と言ってました。

By the way, a man behind me said, " It's gonna be hard』

2回目は、カフェで朝食をとっている時に、隣の女性が照明に頭をぶつけたんです。

The secound chance, When I was having a breakfast at a cafe, a woman next to me hit her head on the light.

おしゃれなカフェで照明が低い位置にあったんです。

It was a stylish cafe and the light was in a low position.

実は、自分も頭ぶつけてました。ちょうどいい高さにあるんです。

I actually bumped my head too.  It's at just the right height.

『これ危ないですよね』とか言いたかったんですが、言葉が出て来ず、見て見ぬ振りをしていましました。

I wanted to say something like, "This is dangerous", but I couldn't find the words and pretended not to see it.

まだまだ語学勉強のしがいがありますね。

I still have a lot to learn about the language.
